“The Oaks” is an amazing property consisting of over 1400 acres and located east of the historic town of Tenterfield NSW, the property and its surrounds are engulfed by breathtaking natural beauty, it truly is best described as “heaven on earth”
Dream Location
Located on the eastern side of Tenterfield, "The Oaks - Stay & Ride", is the perfect off-grid escape. With approximately 26 klms of mountain bike, horse and walking trails, surrounded by creeks, bushland, wildlife and plenty of fresh mountain air. This place is fantastic for those wanting a weekend getaway or families looking for a great school holiday adventure.
The cozy enjoyable farm house can sleep up to seven people with the added option of additional guests to camp onsite upon request.
The space
The farmhouse has has been recently renovated and is completely off grid. It offers all the home comforts including a fully equipped kitchen with gas appliances, spacious bathroom, (Bath not available due to limited tank water) shower and toilet with amenities provided.
With a total of five beds, there is ample amount of room for seven guests to stay inside, with all linen provided. The dining area inside seats up to six guests with a lounge area for extra comfort and a fireplace to keep you warm with firewood supplied. When you head outdoors, enjoy the country vista with a large entertaining area and outdoor fire pit with firewood supplied (if guests use all firewood supplied they can purchase more from the owners).
*Please note if any additional guests arrive without pre approval you will turned away and not refunded. To avoid disappointment please ensure a request is sent through prior to booking if you have more guests so we can ensure the property has everything you will need for your stay.
* Pets must be approved upon request only (POA). There are farm dogs next door and livestock around the property.
The property is accessible by two wheel drive car although it has all the benefits of a remote escape.
Guest access
Guests have access to 1410 acres of undulating country withe first of the mountain bike, horse and walking trails starting at the farm house. Care should be taken around electric fences, livestock in fenced off areas, multiple dams and lower creeks around the trail tracks. Supervision is required when staying on the property.
The trails range from an elevation of 912 - 526 meters down at the creek and all very well signed. There are novice trails for families right through to advanced for all levels of ability including creek crossings, scenic lookouts and rest stops along the way.

Other things to note
There is no Wi-Fi at the property due to no coverage. A satellite TV and DVD player is supplied with some DVD's and guests can bring their own. UHF from the homestead covers the entire property allowing the guests to be in touch with the hosts in case of an emergency. There is access via buggy to all trails in the unlikely event of guests requiring assistance.
Although a Telstra mobile phone booster has been installed, please note mobile phone coverage may not be a full capacity.
